Schools
Educators have long known that the arts can contribute to student's academic success and emotional well being. Storytelling transcends all ages, learning styles and abilities. No special equipment is necessary - just a story and listener's imagination. Storytelling is a powerful teaching tool that promotes literacy, inventive thinking and problem solving skills.
As a special part of the Lone Star Storytelling Festival, Frisco ISD 4th graders and other area students attend a Study Trip day on Friday, October 14, 2011, providing them with a rich experience in the art of storytelling. FISD teachers can access information by clicking on FISD Study Trip to the left.
Want your students to experience the art of professional storytelling in 2011? Area schools are invited to contact Bonnie Barber at the Frisco Public Library, bbarber@friscotexas.gov for information.
